We all want that perfect pearly white smile don’t we?
Dental treatments are on the rise across the world. Here at PDG Advertising we thought it would be a great idea to bring you some successful digital marketing strategies and tactics for dentists.
What is digital marketing?
Digital marketing is getting in front of your customers wherever they pay most attention online. The two most popular areas for people online right now are Facebook, Instagram, Google and YouTube
How do I as a dentist take advantage of Digital Marketing for my practice?
Below are a number of areas you will want to check off when creating a winning campaign to gain new dental clients.
Area #1: First you want to identify your customer base.
Who is it that you want to target?
Where do they live?
Our suggestion is: People who are interested in healthy lifestyle, and fitness, fashion and cosmetics. For location, people who are within driving distance to your practice. There is no point if you are a dental practice in NYC having adverts going to people in Iowa.
Area #2: Get your house in order.
Your website should be in great shape…and ready to accept new customers.
Things that you should have within your website:
-A clear way for customers to contact you.
-Lead capture…some way of making sure you are capturing the customer’s contact details.
-Pixels so you can retarget on Facebook & Google.
-Information about your business.
-Location data on where your business is.
-Potentially a chat box to speak to prospects on the web.
-Mobile optimized, 90% of web traffic is now mobile.
Area #3: Get social.
When you send out adverts, specifically on Facebook & Instagram, the customer will be able to look at who sent the advert to them. When they do this it would make sense to have a number of great posts. Make sure there are recent posts on your newsfeed on Facebook and some excellent images on Instagram of your brand.
For dentists here are some killer social content ideas:
Blogging – Could you write a blog once a month on topics like Invisagiln, Teeth Hygene, Bonding, anything that would interest your core customers.
Before and aftrer pictures – this is a WINNER…people want to see and hear that you are doing great things. A before and after picture of someone with crooked teeth to a 10/10 smile will generate more business.
Thank you cards from customers – When your editor (Myself, Peter Doak) was getting his teeth straightened he was swayed to a particular orthodontist because of the thank you messages on the Facebook page of the practice!
Day to day images – Take pictures of what’s going on within the practice…make it a real place…all goes towards social proof that you are a thriving business.
Customer testimonials – In the same strain but a quick picture or video of a customer who is happy with their new smile. These are golden for generating new business.
Where to post all this content…Facebook posts and Instagram posts are the places to post these
Area #4: Time to advertise.
Set your budget – Understand how much you need to spend on adverts across the course of a month. Our suggestion is to for the firs tmonth start off with maybe $30 per day to test the water. $10 of which I would suggest is used on boosting posts, another $10 used on initial adverts and the last $10 to be used on retargeting the engaged audiences you have created.
Set up your Facebook Adverts account – This is really easy to do and can be done here: https://www.facebook.com/business
Set up your Google Ads Account – Again, really easy to be done here: https://ads.google.com/
Create an exceptional offer – Here are examples of offers that work great for dental practices:
Offer Examples
$250 OFF Invisalign – Limited Time Only.
Finance options – Buy now pay later – Monthly Payments.
Free Teeth Whitening – Customers over $2,000
New patient specials – Cleaning, Exam & X-Ray for $29
Create an exceptional image: Your image is pretty obvious, it needs to be someone with excellent teeth, ideally a video of someone with exceptional teeth.
Create Smart Copy: You don’t need to write a lot, just let people know what you are selling, detail the offer and hoe people get it…”Click here: [Your Website] to get this excellent offer”, or “Messsage us and quote “Facebook Offer” to regain control of your Smile”
Connect up your adverts on either Google or Facebook to direct at the target market that we talked about earlier, make sure the type of people you want included are, and that you are targeting the right local area.
In our opinion, Facebook, Instagram and Google are the right platforms to be targeting, who do you know that dosn’t use at least one of these online media services?
Boost posts on Facebook & Instagram – A LOT of digital marketers will tell you that boosting posts on Facebook is a waste of money, I am here to tell you it is not. Your business is about trust, trust that you can do a great job.
Retarget – You cannot expect to sell to everyone on your first approach, this is why the pixels are very important, place your cookie on the customer’s internet device and retarget your advertising to them so that they see the wonderful things you are doing across the next 7 days.
Area #5: Rinse and Repeat
You WILL get this process wrong…you WILL mess this up first time…but that’s the nature of digital marketing, it’s complicated. You will be dealing with local landscapes and ever changing digital platforms.
Test, test and test again, find out what works for you and double down when you find that winning combination of creative, offer and audience.
Seem like a lot?
